After so much isolation, one day, our favorite media told us that we could start a “new normal”.
So it was then that, with almost no clear references to this “new concept”, we timidly turned to walk the streets, chinstrap in mouth and disinfectant in hand.
To be more faithful to the truth, the word “transit” sounds too “loose in body”, as they say in these lands.
Although being even more honest, conceptually speaking, perhaps it is more appropriate to say that, we began to leave our modern caverns to return to have a little contact with the outside, that “beyond.”
“That” that a long time ago was a simple “here just”.
When you leave, the sun’s rays already look different, they have a light that we thought we had forgotten, but we find it strangely pleasant.
And if it is due to strangeness, all this is so strange and alien, that we still remember with nostalgia that past that is already distant to us.
It is then, then, in this context that what I saw made real sense for me.
Sense, meaning, direction, heading, synonyms that can illustrate this idea.
I think the word applies perfectly, “meaning” is what is lacking in all this.
So more than ever, times like this are where you must begin to connect with what really serves you, what adds up.
The plants, the trees, the restless gait of the birds, the blue of the sky, the passing clouds, beautiful details that give us spaciousness, significance.
I rescue these in particular, since despite how natural and distant they sound, they still coexist in our urban space.
Yes, in this concrete jungle, in this asphalt desert, all is not yet lost. There are still oases, some public, others private.
Those little redoubts flooded with greenery. Those that go from the lightest and yellowish, through the intense and luminous, until reaching those as dark and deep as moonless nights.
I’m talking about the stonemasons. Exactly, as you read. There are modest and exuberant ones, but after all, they are stonemasons. Those little terroirs overflowing with life.
These images managed to awaken in me, a patient, and reassuring smile. Those that come out when daydreaming, glimpses of a prosperous future.
